Although there are many reasons I love being a Texan, here is one good one:
Fairs and rodeos. Although the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is an entity in and of its own... it can't beat a true classic down home local Texas rodeo. My husband and I went to the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo on Saturday. Sigh. Where do I start? Barbecue cook-off competitions (so reminiscent of Chilifest at A&M. Tear.), cold beer, great country music, boots everywhere, funnel cakes, great people watching (the trailer trash did make an appearance), gorgeous pickup trucks, hats hats cowboy hats, foot-long corndogs, amateur cowboys just trying to ride a bucking bronco for two seconds, pigs, lambs, goats, cows, you name it.... and all this was topped off with the Miss Galveston County Fair and Rodeo Beauty Pageant. Lol. Yes. Amazing. Then that Zach Brown Band song "Chicken Fried" played in repeat in my head the whole time... and I am just very thankful to live where I do. I loved it.
God Bless Texas.

Ditto. If there was a 'I miss this' or 'I like this' button for your blog - I'd click it right now.
